In this tech era, it is undeniable that our lives have been made much more convenient. Almost everything can be accessed from our phones, even our wallets. In a move to encourage people to go cashless, NETS has started a promo that allows you to get $0.50 off every transaction(that's at least $1.50) when you make a payment using your mobile app at participating hawker centres and tertiary institution canteens, from April 1st to May 31st.

Think about it, you get $0.50 off your meal, when this is accumulated over the week(s), you save quite a lot of money tbh. I have been using this at NYP since the start of the promo and I can safely say that the app is very simple to use, it's very very convenient and it doesn't take up a lot of time. Also, it has helped me save on my food expenses too haha xD Examples of food I had that I thought was super worth it:

1. A plate of economic veg rice ($1.70 after discount)

2. Mushroom soup ($1 after discount)

3. Latte($1.80 after discount)

So.. More details below:

Apps that can be used to pay:

1. NETSPay

2. DBS PayLah!

3. DBS/POSB digibank

4. iWealth

5. OCBC Pay Anyone™

6. UOB Mighty

Participating hawker centres:

1. 724 Ang Mo Kio Food Centre

2. ABC Market

3. Amoy Street Food Centre

4. Ayer Rajah Hawker Centre

5. Beo Crescent Food Centre

6. Maxwell Food Centre

7. Tanjong Pagar Plaza Food Centre

8. Tekka Hawker Centre

9. Tiong Bahru Food Centre

10. Yishun Park Hawker Centre

11. Zion Rd Food Centre

Participating Tertiary Institution Canteens:

1. NTU

2. NUS

3. SMU

4. Nanyang Poly

5. Ngee Ann Poly

6. Singapore Poly

7. Temasek Poly

8. ITE Central

9. ITE East

10. ITE West

However, here's a disclaimer: while the idea of not bringing your wallet along to work sounds good(I mean less weight added to your bag), there will be times when the connection at some stalls may not work, so my advice would be to just bring along your wallets just in case cashless payments can't be accepted/processed.

Also, the info I got above was from the NETS website, you can visit it for more info too: https://www.nets.com.sg/promotions/go-cashless-for-your-everyday-meals!/

Here's to saving up hehe:")
