Went out with my friends and watched A Quiet Place on Sunday! So, here's a quick review from me. But before I start, here's a disclaimer: There will be spoilers, so if you don't want me to spoil it for you, I suggest you read my thoughts on the movie after you have watched the movie. And if you have already done so, do feel free to share your opinions with me too!

Anyways, here goes. So, because of the trailer, honestly, my friends and I thought it was a horror movie. Before the movie, one of my friends even asked me "Will you scream?" and I told her, "I can't promise you anything now, you'll only know later."

However, if like us, you were thinking that it is a horror movie, honestly, you are wrong. In fact, I felt that the movie isn't even a horror movie LOL xD Ok, I gotta admit that certain parts made me cringe a bit because of what happened to the characters. However, there was a lot of suspense.. And.. I thought that there were a few loopholes in the movie. Here's one of that I just can't get over: So, there was this part when Evelyn(the mom) stepped on a nail on the stairs. OUCH. Honestly, I saw it coming, but I still couldn't bare to look at the screen when it happened. But anyways, from what I can remember, I don't remember them following up on that injury of hers, which is.. Rather strange. So.. Did the wound heal miraculously? But, it was such a deep and painful wound though..

Besides, my friends and I thought that the family was pretty screwed up and they did things that were a bit dumb things. For one, the start of the movie, when Beau(the youngest kid) wanted to bring the airplane along, Lee(the dad) tried to convey the message that he couldn't do so and then, the MOST RIDICULOUS THING is that he took the airplane from Beau, took out the batteries and placed the airplane and the batteries on the table, within reach from the child.. And.. I'm sorry dad, but the child was smarter than you think he was, yes, Beau sneakily took the airplane and the batteries and somehow, he figured out how to make the airplane work again, which led to his death.. Another thing was, on the journey to their new home, the parents were walking in front of the kids, and they left the youngest child right at the back. SERIOUSLY? You don't have eyes at the back of your head, do you? I swear that accident could have been prevented if one of the parents actually followed at the back instead... And then, moving on. One of the things I can't get over is the fact that the parents both knew that noise would cause the monsters to attack, but, wow, they decided to have another kid. And we all know that babies cry, and it can't be controlled. Sighs, WHY MESS UP YOUR LIVES LIKE THIS....... And lastly, Regan(the girl), sighs, first, she decided to leave the house when she knew that her mom would need her help soon. And then, she took SO LONG to realise that the device she wore on her ears could drive the monsters away.. You know, SHE COULD HAVE SAVED HER DAD MY GOODNESS! WHY... I mean, I know it would give her a bad headache, but.. Her dad loved her so much.. :(

Alrights, I know I sound rather harsh, but I would say, despite all these, the casts' acting was good, the chemistry between the couple(Emily Blunt and John Krasinski) is good and the idea is not bad. All in all, I think I would give it a 3.5/5 and I personally think that it's still a movie worth catching.
